GENERAL OPERATIONS MANAGER - Production/Manufacturing Miami, Florida COMPANY OVERVIEW RL Enterprise Recruiting & Staffing is hiring for our client, a modular single-family home manufacturer headquartered in Miami, Florida, specializing in steel-framed, factory-built residential structures. POSITION SUMMARY The General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Miami production facility, overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations, team management, quality control, and customer delivery. This role will manage a team of 4-5 employees and serve as the key driver of operational excellence during a critical growth phase. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the General Manager will be responsible for transforming production capabilities, implementing best practices, and scaling operations to meet increasing market demand for hurricane-resistant, code-compliant modular housing. Qualified candidates should have experience in modular, prefabricated, or factory-built housing production. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Operational Leadership Direct all day-to-day manufacturing operations at the production facility Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments Optimize workflow, resource allocation, and facility utilization to maximize efficiency Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality, and increase throughput Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards Manage facility maintenance, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement projects Team Management & Development Lead, mentor, and develop a production team of 4-5 employees Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence Recruit, train, and retain skilled talent as production scales Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching for professional growth Ensure all team members are properly trained on safety protocols and manufacturing processes Quality & Customer Focus Maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the production process Ensure all units meet engineering specifications and pass required inspections Address customer concerns and quality issues with urgency and professionalism Build strong relationships with builders, developers, and direct customers Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to align production with market demand Financial & Inventory Management Manage production budgets and control operational costs Monitor material inventory levels and coordinate with Majestic Steel's supply chain Track key performance metrics including production volume, cycle time, and cost per unit Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety Strategic Growth & Innovation Partner with executive leadership to develop expansion strategies for South Florida, the Caribbean, and coastal markets Identify opportunities to improve production processes and integrate new technologies Support new product development and customization initiatives Represent Steel Homes professionally in industry events and customer engagements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in residential housing production, modular construction, or related manufacturing environments Proven track record managing production operations with full P&L accountability Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing small to mid-sized teams Demonstrated ability to optimize manufacturing processes and drive operational improvements Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure Strong communication skills in English; Spanish fluency strongly preferred (oral and written) Proficiency with production planning systems, inventory management, and Microsoft Office Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally as needed PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in modular, prefabricated, or factory-built housing production Knowledge of Florida building codes and hurricane-resistant construction standards Background working in high-wind or coastal construction markets Familiarity with steel framing and structural manufacturing processes Experience scaling operations during periods of growth or transition Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS Results-driven with a strong bias for action and execution Hands-on leader comfortable working in a manufacturing environment Customer-focused with a commitment to quality and on-time delivery Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced, evolving business Strategic thinker with operational discipline Bilingual communicator who can engage diverse teams and customer bases COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 (commensurate with experience) Performance-based annual bonus Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off and holidays Opportunity to be part of a growing company solving America's housing crisis with innovative manufacturing LOCATION This position is based at the production facility in Miami, Florida.
