CDL Class A Driver The CDL Class A Driver position will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of New Hudson Facades (NHF) related materials, goods, cargo, or any other items transported by truck in support of the business. These freight moves could be intercompany, delivery to job site, or any other freight move as assigned by supervision in the Materials & Logistics department. The driver is accountable to the management team at NHF and reports into the Materials & Logistics organization. The driver position involves operating Class A commercial vehicles, including day cabs, tractors, and flatbed or 53-foot van trailers, in accordance with the employee's specific CDL classification and endorsements. Drivers are expected to understand, maintain, and operate strictly within the limits of their commercial license classification and endorsements while performing all assigned duties and responsibilities. The CDL Class A Driver position will operate a wide variety of vehicles that support the NHF business, its customers, and other departments within the NHF organization. As a Driver, the primary responsibility is to operate a commercial motor vehicle. The role will primarily focus on a dedicated milk-run route, completed multiple times daily, between NHF's Port facility and a New Jersey queuing yard located near the Lincoln Tunnel entrance. In the event that driving-related support is not available or required, it is expected that on a case-by-case basis, supervision may assign the driver other duties that are not specifically driving. Those duties include, but are not limited to forklift operation, loading, and unloading trucks in the yard, assisting in the loading and unloading process, or any other duty as assigned by supervision. Role and Responsibilities: The safe and efficient transportation of materials, goods, cargo, or any other items transported by truck in support of the business. Operation of commercial motor vehicles based on individual's Commercial Driver's License Classification and other levels of endorsements (Hazmat, etc). Responsible for securing cargo adequately based on requirements. Safe Driving habits (seatbelt use, obeying speed limits, chocking, etc). Follow all state and federal safety regulations and standards. Maintain and record a daily detailed driver's log/logbook. Ability to follow directions, maps, and GPS for safe and efficient navigation. Forklift operation. Load and unload trucks when necessary. Maintain a clean vehicle (Clean interior, windows, windshield, mirrors, snow removal, et al) Fill vehicles with fuel and check oil. Follow directions of supervision for routing of company trucks and necessary transport support. Reports any issues, damages to the product before being loaded or shipped out of the warehouse. Perform other duties as assigned. Team player Physical Requirements Ability to physically sit, stand, bend, squat, climb onto trailers, secure loads, and lift up to 100 pounds.
