Human Resource Assistant Are you a human resources pro who thrives on variety? We are looking for an HR Assistant to serve as the backbone for several of our assisted living communities across Metro-Detroit. You'll be the culture-builder, the policy-navigator, and the go-to expert for our managers and staff who provide vital care to our seniors. What You'll Be Doing Talent Acquisition & OnboardingBe the Face of the Company: Attend local job fairs and community events to find the best caregivers and support staff.ATS Master: Manage job postings across our Applicant Tracking System to keep the pipeline flowing.Seal the Deal: Generate and send offer letters, then lead a seamless onboarding process that makes new hires feel at home from Day 1. Employee Relations & PolicyThe Manager's Wingman: Help community managers interpret HR policies and navigate tricky personnel situations.Discipline & Documentation: Ensure disciplinary actions are fair, consistent, and conducted per company policy. Benefits, Payroll & AdminThe Expert in the Room: Serve as the subject matter expert for employee benefits, answering questions and troubleshooting issues.Data & Dollars: Manage the HRIS and handle payroll processing with high accuracy.Life Happens: Oversee Workers' Comp claims, FMLA, Leaves of Absence (LOA), and unemployment claims from start to finish. #PM25 ComplianceKeep us on the right side of the law by ensuring total compliance with all Federal and State employment regulations. What You Bring to the TableExperience: Previous HR Generalist experience, preferably in healthcare or multi-site environments.Education: Bachelor's degree preferredThe "Detroit Hustle": Willingness to travel between multiple locations in the Metro-Detroit area.Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with HRIS platforms, ATS software, and the standard suite of office tools.Communication: The ability to be firm but empathetic, translating "HR speak" into plain English for your teams.Knowledge: A deep understanding of FMLA, Workers' Comp, and employment law.
