Position Overview: GRAMMER is seeking an Injection Mold Shop Supervisor to join our team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to make impactful changes within the team! The Injection Mold Shop Supervisor will oversee all aspects of injection mold repair, maintenance, and continuous improvement within the facility. This role is essential in ensuring that injection molds are constructed and maintained to meet production, quality, cost, and delivery targets while fostering a safe and efficient work environment. The Supervisor will lead skilled trades, manage resources, and coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to achieve overall plant objectives. Key Responsibilities: Plan and supervise daily operations of the injection mold shop, including new mold builds, repairs, preventive maintenance, and modifications. Set priorities and schedules to meet production demands, launch timelines, and goals for reducing downtime. Ensure molds meet design specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for molds and tooling. Lead troubleshooting efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize production disruptions. Work alongside Engineering on mold design reviews, providing feedback on DFM/DFA and seeking process improvements. Coordinate cross-functionally with Production and Maintenance to support efficient changeovers and ensure readiness for startup. Manage the mold shop budget including labor, tooling, spare parts, outside services, and capital expenditures. Source and manage external vendors for tooling, repairs, and components. Maintain thorough documentation, including mold history, PM records, work orders, and spare parts inventory. Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, TPM) to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and applicable environmental and regulatory standards. Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry. High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Tool & Die, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field is preferred. Solid understanding of injection molding tooling, including knowledge of hot runners, cooling systems, steels, and mold components. Electrical knowledge of mold position signals and safeties, with experience in wiring and troubleshooting proximity sensors, limit switches, and thermocouples. Experienced in CNC machining, EDM, grinding, polishing, and mold assembly. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with proven skills in managing priorities and meeting urgent deadlines. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and root cause analysis capabilities. Proficient in interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T. Familiarity with CMMS systems, ERP/MRP, and Microsoft Office. Adept at building positive working relationships with customers and team members. Self-driven, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
