Overview of Cardinal Health's Pharmacy Operations Cardinal Health's Pharmacy Operations is dedicated to ensuring the safe and effective coordination of pharmacy services for various healthcare settings, including acute care hospitals, clinics, and retail environments. Our goal is to provide customized solutions that enhance patient care quality while reducing costs for healthcare providers. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all clinical activities as assigned, ensuring the efficient operation of refilling machines, medical prescription database management, and medication dispatch. Oversee all administrative tasks, including scheduling pharmacy technician activities, ensuring compliance with processes, and preparing monthly reports. Implement and enforce processes for the proper handling and storage of medicines, maintaining inventory control and budget management. Monitor daily operations of pharmacy technicians and evaluate their performance to help meet departmental goals. Communicate with healthcare professionals to find alternatives during medication shortages and oversee the preparation of intravenous drugs. Maintain all necessary pharmacist certifications and access to medical records. Provide direct pharmaceutical care to patients as needed. Assess the pharmacy inventory and place orders to ensure optimal drug availability while identifying alternatives as necessary. Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of pharmacy staff, ensuring comprehensive evaluations and documentation. Optimize workflow and staffing in the pharmacy to deliver high-quality operations. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to foster collaboration and coordination among healthcare teams. Support strategic objectives by identifying cost-saving opportunities and enhancing operational efficiency within the pharmacy. Manage quality assurance processes and compile end-of-month reports as designated. Qualifications 4-8 years of relevant experience, preferred. Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD required. Must hold an active pharmacist license in the state of Texas. IV certification required. Inpatient/hospital experience preferred. Management experience preferred. Proficiency in using multiple pharmacy information systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals and patients. Excellent organizational, planning, and leadership capabilities. Customer-focused with strong negotiation skills. Willingness to be on call if required. May require vendor credentialing. Salary Range: $111,500 - $175,340.
