Job Summary As a critical member of our optical team, you will be responsible for dispensing glasses and other optical products to both adults and children based on prescriptions provided by optometrists and ophthalmologists. You will assist patients in selecting the best lens and frame options based on their style, weight preferences, and color choices. Major Responsibilities Verify and accurately enter order data, ensuring alignment with prescriptions received from doctors. Deliver outstanding service to members both in-person and over the phone, clearly explaining the pricing and processes associated with eyewear. Perform necessary measurements, select the right frames according to prescriptions, and manage order updates efficiently, from receipt to readiness for pickup. Promote sales and meet targets by educating customers on the benefits of available optical products that enhance their visual experience. Engage meaningfully with members in the optical department during downtime. Follow all confidentiality guidelines in accordance with HIPAA and assist members with eyeglass adjustments and repairs. Assist the Optical Manager with opening and closing procedures, ensuring accurate payment processing. Maintain and uphold all club policies and procedures. Regular, consistent attendance is essential for this role. Qualifications Must be licensed to work as an optician and maintain an up-to-date license. Experience in optical products and business practices is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent; additional schooling or experience in retail and optical settings is a plus. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and detail-oriented skills are necessary. Availability for flexible shifts is required for full-time opportunities. Must be at least 18 years of age. Physical Job Conditions Regularly moving about the work area, including bending and reaching to examine or stock merchandise. Lifting objects up to 20 pounds frequently; assistance may be needed for heavier items. Working indoors with exposure to varied temperatures and sounds, as well as occasionally using cleaning products. Utilizing optical tools to make adjustments and repairs to eyeglasses. The pay range for this position starts at $27.00 per hour. We consider various non-discriminatory factors when determining salary, such as location, education, experience, and qualifications.
