Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Lead Claims Triage Specialist to enhance our team, working primarily from our Los Angeles office, with alternative positions available in Houston or Omaha. Reporting to the Triage Director in Denver, CO, you will focus on fast-track claims adjudication while providing essential clerical triage support. This role has significant potential for professional growth within the claims department as future Claims Trainee positions become available. This full-time position requires in-office presence during standard business hours, with an emphasis on exact time tracking and potential overtime based on business demands. Key Responsibilities: Provide clerical support to claims adjusters, ensuring efficient and accurate management of commercial claims. Independently address and resolve problems, leveraging prior experiences for solution development. Learn about the insurance marketplace, including policy contracts and their intent. Update claims in the database and liaise with brokers as necessary. Effectively manage a caseload of fast-track claims. Track claim progress to optimize financial outcomes and quick resolutions. Set initial claim reserves with accuracy. Screen and direct incoming phone calls appropriately. Manage general voice mail and respond to inquiries. Prepare written correspondence and handle electronic and paper filing as required. Determine coverage and appropriate adjuster assignments. Investigate claims through communication with claimants and insured parties. Process mail and efficiently prioritize tasks. Gather technical information by ordering reports and contacting police departments as needed. Manage phone communication with various stakeholders, including insureds and claimants. Exhibit a commitment to strong claims management. Qualifications: Minimum of one year of insurance experience. Strong business acumen, understanding how an insurance company operates profitably. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus. Excellent time management and prioritization skills amid multiple tasks and deadlines. A desire to learn about Triage claims with an aim to progress as a Claims Adjuster. Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to explore innovative solutions. Client-focused with an ability to deliver valuable solutions based on specific needs. Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse groups. Detail-oriented with a strong initiative to succeed. Flexibility and resourcefulness to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. Proficient in computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Motivated for ongoing professional development. Preferred Qualifications: General knowledge of commercial workers' compensation insurance. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. The base salary for this position ranges from $35.26 to $41.14 per hour in the Los Angeles metro area, reflecting experience and role responsibilities.
