ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Learn the fundamentals of tool and die maintenance, trouble shooting and die repair Read and interpret technical drawings Operate and maintain various machines and hand tools used in the trade Assist in the manufacturing machining area, press calls and die maintenance Inspect finished products and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy Collaborate with senior tool and die makers to troubleshoot and resolve issues Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment Requirements: Trade school certification required Basic knowledge of math, including algebra and geometry Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints Good dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and mechanical skills Willingness to work with heavy machinery and tools Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good communication and teamwork skills Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced tool and die makers, machinist and engineers PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to bend, stoop, lift and move objects, occasionally lifting some objects weighing up to 40 pounds Stand on antifatigue matting and walk on concrete continuously throughout a (ten) 10-hour shift
