Purpose Statement Home infusion therapy (HIT) provides patients the opportunity to receive their vital treatments in the comfort of their own environments, including nursing homes and outpatient clinics. This innovative approach enhances patient autonomy and improves the overall care experience. As a Registered Nurse specializing in Infusion Therapy, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care to adult patients requiring customized infusion therapies. Your key responsibilities will include administering a variety of treatments, such as IVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacements, and clotting factors, employing diverse techniques. This role demands both clinical expertise and a compassionate touch in patient care. This position reports directly to the Area Director of Infusion Services. Required Education and Experience Current and valid RN license. At least 3 years of nursing experience. Strong IV skills accompanied by a genuine passion for patient care. Excellent abilities in clinical assessment and critical thinking. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in home care settings. Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) documentation. Successful track record of building a loyal caseload of satisfied patients. Experience in critical care settings is preferred. A minimum of 1 year in hospital infusion therapy; prior home infusion therapy experience is a plus. Certification in infusion therapy (CRNI) is advantageous. Preferred expertise in both pediatrics and adult medical care. Responsibilities Administer infusion therapies, including IVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacements, and clotting factors based on physician orders and established protocols. Conduct thorough assessments and monitor patients throughout the infusion process to ensure safety and treatment effectiveness. Educate patients and their families about infusion therapy procedures, potential side effects, and care practices. Collaborate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, and healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Perform detailed patient assessments by considering both physical and psychosocial factors to deliver personalized care. Accurately document all patient care activities, treatment plans, and outcomes in a timely manner. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about the latest industry trends, guidelines, and best practices. Perform other duties as necessary.
