Job Description Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as a Principal Software Developer in our dynamic Networking organization, focusing on DDoS protection and Network Security. This pivotal role provides an exciting opportunity to architect and enhance solutions that ensure the reliability and availability of OCI's global cloud services. We are looking for someone who thrives in collaborative environments, drives technical direction, and delivers resilient, large-scale software systems in a cloud setting. Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of distributed systems aimed at enhancing the security and resilience of OCI's networking services. Drive the creation of robust L4 and L7 protection services, including DDoS mitigation and Web Application Firewall (WAF), to counter a variety of network and application-layer threats. Monitor trends in network architecture and the threat landscape to inform design decisions and system enhancements. Focus on improving system scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams-product, security, operations, and engineering-to deliver high-impact solutions. Define, document, and share architectural strategies, technical best practices, and operational processes. Mentor engineers and help elevate technical standards throughout the organization. Promote a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. A minimum of 8 years of significant experience in building, scaling, and operating distributed systems or cloud infrastructure. Working knowledge of network technologies or security principles, along with a desire to deepen expertise. Proficient programming skills in one or more major languages (such as Go, Java, C++, Python), particularly within the context of systems engineering. Able to navigate ambiguity, spearhead complex technical initiatives, and collaborate across teams effectively. Proven experience in producing high-quality designs and technical documentation. Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaboration capabilities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in developing security, networking, or large-scale cloud solutions. Familiarity with automation, monitoring, and operational tools for highly available services. Experience with open-source technologies or contributions to the community.
