POSITION SUMMARY The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for supporting, implementing, and monitoring nursing care in a timely and accurate manner. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Must be licensed by the State of Tennessee. Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Workplace Experience: Patient Care Delivery Skills and Training: The ideal candidate must be able to work well under pressure, display flexibility, and apply nursing knowledge across various settings. Experience with medical equipment such as Order Entry Systems, Telemetry, and Omnicell Medication System is a plus. Physical Environment: This position will require working in a medical/surgical unit with a diverse patient population. Physical Effort: Must communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to stand and work for extended periods, up to twelve hours a day. Capable of pushing/pulling objects up to 175 lbs. Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance, up to 250 lbs. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Collect patient data promptly upon admission using observation and communication skills. Revise individual patient care plans as needed, including identifying nursing diagnoses and interventions. Assist with patient education and support during discharge and post-discharge. Work independently with treatments and procedures according to policy and competency guidelines. Safely handle and administer medications in line with hospital policies. Monitor patient conditions and modify care plans as necessary in a timely manner. Document patient care accurately and promptly. Uphold a healing and therapeutic environment for patients and their families. Participate in staff development and maintain professional qualifications. Responsible for assigned communications and maintaining a clean and professional work area.
