Network Engineer (ContractToHire/Onsite)

Network Engineer (Full Time, Contract-to-Hire;Onsite in Fort Mill, SC) Optomi, in partnership with one of our clients, is seeking a Network Engineer to support critical healthcare infrastructure in a U.S.-based, onsite role. This position focuses on supporting and maintaining enterprise Layer 2 and Layer 3 network environments, including routing, switching, and wireless connectivity across multiple facilities. The Network Engineer will play a key role in incident response, network troubleshooting, and project-based work such as upgrades and new installations, ensuring high availability for mission-critical clinical systems. This role will collaborate closely with senior network engineers, infrastructure teams, and clinical stakeholders while leveraging enterprise networking technologies, ticketing platforms, and monitoring tools to deliver a reliable, secure, and compliant healthcare network. Responsibilities Support and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure, including routing, switching, VLANs, and subnetting across enterprise environments. Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents and outages, performing root cause analysis to restore connectivity with minimal downtime. Configure, manage, and support enterprise network hardware (Extreme Networks preferred; Cisco/Aruba/Juniper experience acceptable). Handle network work requests and day-to-day operational tasks across multiple sites and facilities. Participate in network projects, including upgrades, expansions, hardware refreshes, and new installations. Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, including infrastructure and clinical stakeholders, and participate in an on-call rotation for critical issues. Qualifications 3+ years supporting enterprise Layer 2 & Layer 3 networks, with hands-on experience in routing, switching, VLANs, and subnetting in production environments. Strong troubleshooting experience in live environments, including incident response, root cause analysis, and restoring network connectivity with minimal downtime. Experience working with enterprise network hardware (Extreme Networks preferred), with transferable backgrounds in Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, or similar platforms. Exposure to routing protocols such as OSPF (BGP a plus), and familiarity with network segmentation and fabric-based architectures. Experience supporting multi-site or campus networks, handling network work requests, upgrades, and new installs across geographically distributed locations. Comfort operating in regulated or high-availability environments (healthcare a strong plus), with the communication skills to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional IT teams. #J-18808-Ljbffr
