Job Title: Mobile Maintenance Technician Department: Maintenance Country: United States of America Full/Part Time: Full time Job Summary: As a Mobile Technician II, you will take on the critical role of servicing and repairing J.B. Hunt tractors, trailers, and other equipment at customer sites or rail yards using our mobile service truck. This position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, providing essential maintenance services and mentoring to new technicians. Key Responsibilities: Conduct intermediate-level preventive maintenance and repairs, such as tire replacements, brake repairs, and electrical diagnostics. Troubleshoot and repair ABS systems effectively. Safely operate the mobile service truck and manage inventory. Assist in training and mentoring new tractor technician trainees. Ensure adherence to safety protocols while on-site. Complete work orders and documentation accurately, following established procedures. Document damage to company equipment and estimate repair costs. Utilize cutting torch and welding equipment for mid-level repair tasks. Patch holes in trailer or container panels and roofs. Perform annual AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections under supervision. Work shifts may vary based on location and business needs. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years old for equipment over 10,000 lbs with two years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance, or a combination of education and experience including military service. Possess a clean motor vehicle record in accordance with J.B. Hunt guidelines. Ability to supply your own basic tools or acquire them through our toolbox purchase program. Willing to work outdoors and across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends if necessary. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with two years of relevant experience. DOT certification in FHWA inspections and air brakes. Welding certification. Forklift certification and experience. EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license. Exceptional communication skills. Strong multitasking abilities. Capability to work independently and in a team. Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Able to meet physical requirements (lift/move appliances up to 50 pounds). Willing to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE). Compensation: Starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, and geography. This position may also receive annual bonuses based on profitability or volumes, in line with company policies.
