Job Description

The Cyber Security Operations Engineer plays a critical role in enhancing the security posture of our partners and end customers. This individual will analyze security reports and provide actionable insights for improvement. You will actively contribute to the creation and maintenance of policies, standards, and procedures, while also acting as the administrator for assigned security systems. A deep understanding of the security goals as set forth by established policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards is essential to successfully meet those objectives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with our Security Operations Center (SOC) analysts and operations teams, ensuring that we consistently deliver exceptional service and support to our customers. This will involve capturing service delivery issues and collaborating with internal teams to address these concerns effectively. You will also be responsible for managing service changes and improvements, ensuring they are communicated and delivered to the appropriate support teams. Essential Functions: Provide support to the SOC as needed. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in changing environments. Utilize emotional intelligence to enhance team dynamics and output. Maintain a strong customer service focus, meeting expectations within project parameters. Perform additional duties as assigned. Work Environment Expectations: Serve as the technical lead for customer onboarding related to security engineering. Deliver post-install technical support for security system software, including CCE upgrades and adjustments. Administer MS Office 365. Provide IT helpdesk support to employees, including MS Office 365 and laptops, with a focus on Robertet Automox Patching. Conduct monthly test server patching on the second weekend of the month for three servers. Perform production server patching once a month on the third weekend, covering approximately 90 servers. Participate in new product testing initiatives. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Hours of Work: The hours will vary based on customer demands and project assignments. Physical Demands: This role requires regular activities including sitting, typing, and using a computer for extended periods (2-3 hours at a time), as well as standing, driving, reaching, bending, and occasionally lifting objects up to 20 lbs. Exhibit professional verbal and written communication for knowledge sharing. Understand business structure and strategies as they relate to project goals. Pay attention to detail and apply strategic insights effectively. Show strong remote collaboration and communication abilities. Maintain professionalism and respect in communication. Required Experience and Qualifications: Associate degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work experience. Demonstrated experience in Windows and non-Windows server configuration, administration, and monitoring. Experience in a process-oriented workflow environment is essential. ITIL experience is preferred. Familiarity with multi-tiered ticket handling and resolution systems. Experience supporting large enterprise IT environments. Able to create, modify, and adhere to standard procedural documents. Knowledge of the Jira ticketing platform is a plus. US Military Service experience is highly preferred.
