Position Overview: The Assistant Controller is vital in ensuring the success of our Integrated Finance Managed Services (IFMS) engagements. This role involves close collaboration with Central and Regional IFMS Delivery Executives, as well as the global delivery service team, to resolve operational challenges and ensure effective communication regarding performance and risks. You will be instrumental in various financial functions, ensuring that all activities meet accuracy and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with Central and Regional IFMS Delivery Executives and the service delivery team to proactively tackle operational challenges while effectively communicating performance and risks. Assist in monitoring service delivery health alongside the Service Delivery Executive, identifying possible issues early and implementing resolutions to enhance performance. Support the Commercial Management Office by tracking scope changes and addressing commercial and contract-related issues. Engage in general accounting functions, participating in monthly and quarterly closures, preparing journal entries, and assisting with variance analyses with client teams. Coordinate with our Technical Accounting Advisory Group to manage technical accounting inquiries from managed services clients. Help manage the accounting workstreams for clients' SEC filings, guaranteeing the accuracy of quarterly and on-demand deliverables. Provide ongoing support in finance-related services, including treasury operations, stock-based compensation tracking, and interactions with client banks and investment managers. Support payroll services through EY's managed services and liaise with client HR to ensure compliance with employee benefits and tax reporting obligations. Prepare audit schedules and act as a liaison between clients and external auditors during annual and interim audits. Contribute to the preparation of materials for client Audit Committee and Board meetings, aiding the Regional IFMS Controller in the finalization process. Support the administration and maintenance of EY's Integrated Finance systems, overseeing reconciliations and reporting on interfacing between subledgers and the general ledger. Engage in cross-functional initiatives to enhance financial processes and contribute to ad hoc projects in response to client demands. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business. US CPA licensure in your working state. 5+ years of accounting experience focused on financial reporting and compliance. Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles with experience in a public company setting. Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to collaborate across various teams effectively. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial software systems. Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with effective multi-priority management. Willingness to travel and work beyond standard hours when required. Access to reliable transportation for commuting to the EY office and client sites is recommended. Preferred Skills: Experience with SAP, Certent, FloQast, Active Disclosure, Concur, or Ariba. Familiarity with SEC filings and audit procedures is advantageous. Experience in a clinical stage bioscience or pharmaceutical company is a plus.
