Mobile Maintenance Technician

In this exciting role, you will provide expert maintenance, service, and repairs on J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis, and power equipment directly at customer locations or rail yards. You will utilize a mobile service truck to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance while ensuring all units meet J.B. Hunt's high standards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance including tire replacements, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics, and structural repairs for tractor and trailer equipment. Oversee recall campaigns and ensure timely completion. Diagnose and repair ABS systems and specialized equipment, including refrigerated units and lift gates. Mentor new technician trainees and act as a team lead to coordinate support during shifts. Adhere to all safety requirements at customer and rail yard locations. Operate service truck professionally and manage parts inventory efficiently. Complete accurate work orders and documentation as per established procedures. Document damage to equipment for repair estimations. Utilize cutting torch and welding equipment for mid-level repairs on equipment. Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections and sign off when complete. Our shifts may vary based on location and business needs, offering a dynamic work environment. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs with 3 years of semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance experience. Possess a clean motor vehicle record in accordance with J.B. Hunt guidelines. Ability to supply basic tools or purchase through our toolbox program. Willingness to work outdoors and across multiple shifts. DOT-certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes. Preferred Qualifications: GED or High School Diploma with additional experience in maintenance. Welding and forklift certifications. EPA Section 608 certification and Refrigeration License. Strong communication and organizational skills. Competent in using Microsoft Office suite tools. Able to handle physical demands of the job. Ability to wear protective gear as needed.
