Senior Design Build Project Manager - Water Services

Requisition ID: 43573BR Business Unit: NAU Job Description: CDM Smith is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Design Build Project Manager to join our South Region Water Team. In this crucial role, you will spearhead multi-disciplinary planning, design, and construction teams for significant water and wastewater treatment facilities, collection and distribution systems, and environmental and stormwater projects. This is your opportunity to lead innovative solutions, while engaging with a variety of stakeholders including clients, engineering leaders, project engineers, and top-tier vendors. The position reports to the South Region Delivery Leader and offers flexible hybrid work options. Responsibilities include: Facilitating effective communication among design and construction teams. Managing multi-discipline water, wastewater, conveyance, and environmental projects with budgets up to $100M, from initial concept through detailed design and construction. Building and nurturing relationships with key municipal clients in the region. Leading project delivery and pursuit teams effectively. Collaborating closely with technical specialists, delivery managers, and vendors. Assisting in the creation and coordination of Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) documents. Preparing, monitoring, and managing project budgets and schedules while mitigating risk. Conducting high-level planning and technical analyses, including the preparation of reports. Promoting design build best practices, including constructability reviews and schedule compliance. Engaging actively in professional societies relevant to our clients, such as DBIA. Job Title: Senior Design Build Project Manager - Water Services Group: SEG Employment Type: Regular Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. 10 years of relevant experience. PMP (PMI), CCM, or DBIA certification is required within 12 months of hire. Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally, depending on project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with alternative project delivery and integrated design build project management. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management is advantageous. DBIA certification is preferred. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proven project management experience in multi-discipline water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure design build projects. Demonstrated leadership skills, with a focus on mentorship and problem-solving. Prefer candidates with a Master's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Construction Management.
