Job Purpose: We are seeking a Senior Principal Equipment Systems Engineer to lead transformative projects aimed at optimizing machine efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) within our Lens Care Solutions manufacturing team. In this role, you will drive engineering projects that reduce costs, enhance quality, and address obsolescence issues, while ensuring operational excellence in our process equipment. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), guiding improvement initiatives and providing support for the operation of packaging line equipment, including cartoners, bundlers, and robotics. Troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues and implement innovative solutions to enhance performance and minimize costs. Collaborate across departments to align improvements with site priorities, while offering ongoing technical support and training for new equipment and processes. Lead engineering projects aimed at waste reduction, process reliability enhancement, and quality improvement. Utilize data acquisition techniques to analyze key metrics for optimizing product cost, quality, and manufacturing reliability based on operational data and performance metrics. Manage engineering projects by defining scope, planning resources, and overseeing budget management. Maintain clear communication regarding project milestones with all relevant stakeholders. Keep management informed about developments that may affect profitability, timelines, costs, and inter-departmental relationships, ensuring transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Stay informed about technological advancements that could benefit operations, providing proactive recommendations for process enhancements aimed at improving cost effectiveness, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering; an advanced degree is preferred. Experience: A minimum of 10 years in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device manufacturing engineering focusing on Process & Packaging Equipment Design and GMP CapEx execution, with a proven track record of process improvements. Lean 6-Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent is required; PMP certification is a plus. Skills: Proven experience in improving manufacturing processes and packaging equipment within a GMP environment. Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to establish clear objectives and collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex challenges. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Process Excellence, Lean tools, and Design for Six Sigma methodologies. Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment while effectively navigating across organizational boundaries. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated teamwork and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Project and Visio, as well as having a working knowledge of CAD software, such as SolidWorks and GD&T concepts.
