Overview The Electrical Field Engineer II will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing project controls and management across multiple disciplines. The primary responsibilities include supporting Craft Superintendents, performing quantity collection, managing schedules, administering contracts, and facilitating project planning and reporting. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders affected by the project, including clients, engineering/design teams, subcontractors, and vendors. Ongoing communication with project management regarding project status is essential. Location & Travel Details: This position is based in the U.S. and involves extensive travel, possibly up to 100% of the time. You may be assigned to project sites across various states and can expect to spend on average 8-18 months on each project. We provide competitive per diem rates alongside an attractive base salary to assist with living expenses. Additionally, mobilization support, including mileage reimbursement, is available, and you'll enjoy one long weekend every four weeks for family time. The Clean Energy & Infrastructure segment of MasTec generates over $4 billion annually, providing construction services in renewables, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. Our commitment to sustainability and safety is at the forefront of our operations. Essential Job Functions: Represent the company professionally in all client interactions. Prepare and deliver contract-required reports (weekly, monthly, and schedule). Adhere to the Corporate Safety Plan and site-specific safety protocols. Conduct quantity calculations and assess installation progress. Establish processes for developing and reviewing work plans and packages. Ensure timely communication and documentation for site quality controls. Manage daily labor timesheet processing and approval. Accumulate and distribute the Average Labor Rate to front-line supervisors weekly. Train staff on completing Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Participate in or lead jobsite safety reviews and training sessions. Coordinate material deliveries and manage procurement status reporting. Plan, schedule, and coordinate jobsite work groups effectively. Perform material takeoffs from drawings and specifications. Assist engineers by gathering and preparing necessary data for submissions. Prepare field purchase orders and help with subcontract management. Oversee procurement and subcontract administration functions from home office. Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations. Maintain thorough project recordkeeping and correspondence. Implement project controls like productivity tracking and risk management. Create and manage the master project schedule. Generate change orders and as-built data for Project Manager review. Lead the planning process through detailed schedules and manpower curves. Assist with accounting, job costing, and WIP updates. Guide budgeting processes using the Estimate and standard Phase codes. Communicate cost trend alerts to management. Accurately forecast project costs across all categories. Establish cash flow forecasts to ensure project financial health. Act as the primary company representative in the absence of the Project Manager. Understand the prime contract provisions and scope. Develop and prepare the Schedule of Values and customer invoices. Supervisory Responsibilities: Occasionally support a crew of up to 50 personnel. Lead 1-2 Field Engineers. Oversee portions of the field office staff, including engineers, document control, and procurement personnel. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. Three to five years of experience as a Field Engineer or in a similar role. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with health and safety programs and regulations. Active participation in daily toolbox meetings on site. Exhibit safe behavior as a personal standard. Ability to analyze engineering plans and contract documents effectively. Willingness to work in various challenging environmental conditions. Self-motivated with a strong commitment to excellence. Dedication to safety and preventing workplace injuries. Team-oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines independently. Readiness for extensive travel and project relocations. Other responsibilities may arise as needed. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members and supervisors. Physical Demands: Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures and conditions. Capacity to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks. Endurance to work in diverse environmental conditions with frequent exposure to elements. Compliance with safety standards and ability to use personal protective equipment. Agility to navigate confined and uneven areas and work at heights. Strong visual and auditory acuity, with the ability to identify details in drawings. Maintain balance and coordinate movement effectively.
