Senior Logistics Specialist

Position Overview Are you ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role that supports pivotal projects for the U.S. Department of War? Join Serco as a Senior Logistics Specialist and become a vital part of a dynamic team that drives major systems acquisition and sustainment initiatives at the Pentagon. In this position, you will engage in impactful work alongside the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment. Your expertise will contribute to developing robust product support policies and guidance that enhance the defense capabilities and security of our nation. Your responsibilities will include: Updating and maintaining DoD Instruction (DoDI) 5000.91 and associated sustainment policies. Supporting activities related to the Acquisition Transformation Strategy and Product Support. Preparing briefings, reports, and communication materials to keep leadership informed on policy updates. Assisting in the creation of strategic messaging and communication plans for policy publications. Reviewing and drafting comments on DoD directives and recommendations, ensuring they align with current product support policies. Providing analysis and insight on legislation and Congressional bills relevant to product support policy. Assisting in drafting proposals to amend US Code Title 10 statutes. Supporting the development of required Congressional reports and providing input on GAO and IG recommendations. Advising the Warfighting Acquisition University (WAU) on Product Support and contributing to course development. Qualifications for Success Active DoD Secret security clearance. A Master's degree. A minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience. Expertise in DoD weapon system sustainment policies and processes. Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis for product support plans. Familiarity with DoD sustainment metrics and the ability to recommend corrective actions. Experience in Defense Acquisition processes, including developing requirements and engaging with industry. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proven experience interacting with Joint Staff, Services, and warfighters. Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
