Central District Health (CDH) is searching for a motivated individual to join our dedicated group of public health professionals as an Emergency Preparedness Planner with our Public Health Preparedness team. This position is based in our Boise office. Typical Duties: Design, develop and coordinate public health preparedness plans; Coordinate planning activities with local, regional, state and national stakeholders; Conduct threat/risk vulnerability assessments; Act as the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Coordinator for CDH; Participate in relevant committees, workgroups, and professional networks to accomplish objectives and coordinate with the broader emergency preparedness community; Manage and coordinate resources to support emergency response plans (including equipment); Analyze, maintain and manage relevant local public health data for emergency preparedness planning efforts; Assist in the development, coordination, and facilitation of training; Assist in the design, development, coordination, and evaluation of internal and external exercises; Implement improvement plans based on emergency preparedness exercise outcomes and participant feedback; Maintain effective communication with internal and external partners; Integrate into public health emergency response teams, including occasional after-hours support carrying the health district's 24/7/365 on-call phone; Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Some knowledge of measurement processes and methods for assessing progress toward achieving goals and objectives of projects or plans. Experience: That demonstrates knowledge of planning principles and practices for program and project planning; Utilizing automated systems to develop spread sheets and graphics; Writing technical reports; Preparing and making presentations to groups. Preferred Qualifications (these are not mandatory, however, having these qualification may increase your overall ranking): Relevant certifications such as Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Certified in Public Health (CPH) or similar; Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800); Experience utilizing automated systems and platforms (such as ArcGIS) to develop spreadsheets and graphics.
