Position Details: Self-scheduling posted four weeks in advance for predictable scheduling. Collaborative culture with respect among all surgical staff. Active communication with unit leaders to express suggestions for patient care and surgical workflow improvements. On-call requirements during select non-business hours. Role Responsibilities: Evaluate patients prior to surgery. Provide patient and family education related to procedures and the peri-operative process. Handle patient preparation including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification. Participate in surgical site verifications and adhere to hospital protocols including briefing, time out, and debriefing. Recognize and respond to patient emergencies swiftly. Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while focusing on evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate as a vital member of an interdisciplinary team, including providers, surgeons, and surgical technologists. Utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, and technical skills to provide safe nursing care independently. Monitor patient conditions throughout your shift, documenting changes and the care administered. Educate patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up care. Qualifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment. Registered Nurse (RN) license. Registered Nurse Diploma.
