Description Position Summary The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a crucial role in supporting the Restaurant General Manager and Market Leader in upholding and delivering the Church's Chicken brand standards. This position is all about driving sales growth, ensuring operational excellence, and managing profitability, all while delivering an outstanding guest experience. As an AGM, you'll lead by example, uphold brand standards, develop your team, and ensure smooth restaurant operations while complying with company policies and regulatory requirements. Essential Job Functions People Leadership & Team Development Assist the Restaurant General Manager in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high-performing restaurant team. Ensure all employees receive training and certification according to current Church’s Chicken training programs. Foster a culture of continuous learning, teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement. Create a positive, service-oriented, and inclusive work environment. Recommend and administer corrective actions, including coaching and discipline, in accordance with company policy. Lead and motivate a diverse team to meet performance and development goals. Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) and assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Restaurant General Manager. Deliver the Ultimate Brand Experience by: Executing Church's Chicken brand standards, policies, and operating procedures consistently. Ensuring high-quality food and exceptional guest service are delivered at all times. Maintaining restaurant facilities, equipment, and grounds to operational and safety standards. Ensuring compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health, and HACCP standards. Preparing for and responding to health inspections and internal audits. Enforcing cleaning schedules, uniform standards, and appearance guidelines. Ensuring promotional materials are present and displayed correctly. Achieve or Exceed Sales and Build Customer Loyalty by: Assisting the RGM in identifying and communicating sales goals (daily, weekly, year over year). Ensuring the right staffing according to projected and actual sales. Increasing customer count and check averages, maximizing capacity and customer value. Supporting the RGM in identifying and executing local marketing initiatives to attract new customers. Staying informed about local events and understanding the store's current trade area and competition. Executing service standards including speed and providing a friendly atmosphere. Flawlessly executing marketing promotions and campaigns. Achieve or Exceed Profitability by: Maintaining appropriate staffing levels in relation to actual sales. Complying with labor laws. Managing inventory accurately to reduce waste and prevent theft. Ensuring cash handling procedures and standards are in place and followed. Performing cash audits and addressing any issues promptly. Executing safety and health standards effectively. Minimizing repairs & maintenance and supplies costs by managing service vendors efficiently. Achieving and communicating controllable cost targets. Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary, particularly in response to emergencies, changes in workload, or other technical developments. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of experience in the QSR industry or in a full-service concept. ServSafe Certification (required or willing to obtain). Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; great telephone manner. Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented and accurate. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and math skills. Ability to work autonomously and under pressure. Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team while promoting learning and development. Must possess a valid driver's license, insurance, and capability to use a personal vehicle for bank deposits and travel to other locations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT / WORKING CONDITIONS Work includes performing in a restaurant and office environment, with prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting, typing, and viewing computer screens. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting of items up to 50 pounds, such as cases of chicken, boxes of supplies, cooking oil, or cleaning materials. Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed. Travel to other restaurant locations within the assigned area may be required; overnight travel might also occur.
