Role Overview: The Diesel Mechanic/Technician is crucial to ensuring mechanical repairs are carried out efficiently and to high standards. We value our employees and invest in their training to foster personal and professional growth. Primary Responsibilities: Perform preventive maintenance and oil changes. Grease trucks and trailers. Handle tire services and repairs. Conduct CSA/DOT inspections. Respond to service calls and participate in night callouts. Perform intermediate to advanced electrical diagnostics and repairs. Complete wheel end repairs including S-cam/bushing replacement and spindle repairs. Fix issues related to air systems (basic diagnostics, tank replacements). Execute basic HVAC repairs such as evacuation and recharge. Conduct coolant repairs on pumps, hoses, and radiators. Carry out basic welding tasks. Perform starting/charging diagnostics and repairs. Implement basic engine and drivetrain repairs. Maintain a clean and organized shop environment. Ensure all service equipment is in good condition. Accurately complete work orders for warranty purposes. Strive for total customer satisfaction and uphold Bosselman’s integrity. Adhere to safety policies and practices. Complete OSHA skills demonstration in the first week. Keep up-to-date with all training. Deliver friendly and competent customer service. Punctually report for scheduled shifts. Additional Duties: Assist with other tasks as assigned. Supervisory Role: No supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position. Qualifications: Tire Service Certification from TIA required within 18 months. Air Brake Certification is a must. Must obtain a DOT Medical Card. Minimum of two years’ experience as a diesel technician. Minimum Qualifications: Valid driver's license and insurable to drive. Complete brake and wheel seal training. Able to attend HVAC, Electrical, and DOT training. Willingness to obtain ASE, DOT, TIA, and other certifications. Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed. Reliable transportation and a working phone are required. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Committed to providing friendly and prompt customer service. Team-oriented and cooperative attitude. Must demonstrate proficiencies outlined in the Tech I training program. Physical Requirements: Employees must occasionally lift/move up to 75 lbs. Essential job functions include frequent standing, walking, using hands, reaching, talking, and hearing; occasionally sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
