Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Title Specific Responsibilities: Operate a variety of diesel and gasoline powered equipment to include generators, wheeled/track vehicles, and semi-trailer combinations up to 70-ton capacity Operate various types of forklifts and equipment to complete loading, unloading, warehousing and preparing equipment and supplies for transport Receive daily tasks and assignments from the Maintenance supervisor Examples of forklifts and equipment range from 2,000 pound to 50,000-pound capacity rough terrain (RT), and various types of wheeled cranes up through 25 tons Must perform snow removal in winter months for all areas serviced Perform preventative maintenance checks and services Perform operator maintenance to include servicing vehicle braking systems, checking vehicle lights, and taking oil samples Receive incoming warehouse items and equipment and check them for damage and serviceability Issue/receive equipment; store equipment in the warehouse; load outgoing equipment Prepare and post documents for the Army Oil Analysis Program and dispatching equipment Prepare documents and warehouse reports All other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications: Class A CDL, or be willing to obtain one within 90 days High level of Customer Service skills Ability to work in a Team atmosphere 2 years of experience operating vehicles up to 70 tons including tractor trailer and/or engineer type equipment (Scrapers, Dozers, Graders and Dump trucks) Physical ability to climb in and out of equipment Ability to work in all weather elements, including heat and cold GCSS-Army experience a plus Computer literacy a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Meticulous attention to detail What We Offer: Generous Vacation and Health benefit package 401k matching program Long and Short-term disability Life Insurance Paid Holidays EOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disabled Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
