We are excited to invite applications for a Senior Maintenance Lead to oversee our state-of-the-art lumber facility's Maintenance Department. This key role holds full responsibility for maintenance operations and reports directly to the Mill Manager. About the Facility Located in Millport, AL, approximately 50 miles Northwest of Tuscaloosa and about 100 miles Southwest of Birmingham, our community offers a blend of outdoor recreation, shopping, dining, and collegiate activities. Key Responsibilities Lead initiatives for preventive and predictive maintenance to enhance process reliability. Develop strategies to improve key performance indicators and refine department budgets. Coach and mentor team members to enhance their skills and engagement. Manage and be actively involved in capital projects. Ensure adherence to purchasing policies and procedures. Maintain and improve our computerized maintenance management system. Collaborate with production teams to boost productivity and reduce waste. Quickly identify and resolve safety, environmental, quality, and production issues. Lead and inspire a diverse team of approximately 50 associates, including 6 salaried employees, fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration. Streamline processes to boost efficiency and reliability across maintenance operations. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or higher is required. At least eight (8) years of relevant maintenance experience, including two (2) years in a management role. A strong commitment to safety, with a proven track record of enhancing safety performance. Data-driven mindset with the ability to use metrics and analysis to inform decisions and foster continuous improvement. Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including foundational knowledge of PLC programming. Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. Experience with managing capital projects and achieving quantifiable business outcomes. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a knack for implementing effective corrective actions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to lead a diverse team and nurture a culture of continuous improvement. Proficient with Microsoft Office and other Windows-based applications. Ability to support a 24/7 operational environment, including weekends and holidays if needed. Critical experience in building team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and structured training. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. Background in wood products maintenance or a similar heavy industrial environment. What We Offer: Compensation: This role is part of our annual merit increase program, with a targeted salary range of $119,088-$178,774, dependent on skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, you will be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeted at 20% of base pay, with potential plan funding ranging from zero to twice that target. Retirement: Employees can enroll in our 401k plan with company matching and an additional contribution of 5% of eligible pay. Paid Time Off or Vacation: Eligible employees scheduled to work 25 or more hours per week will receive 3 weeks of paid vacation during their first year. After six months of employment, eligible employees will start to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing 88 holiday hours, along with paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
