Carowinds is seeking a dedicated Water Attractions Area Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our exciting water attractions. This role involves not only managing operations but also taking an active part in hiring, training, and leading our seasonal staff. You will collaborate with various divisional managers to achieve shared goals and assist in cross-departmental projects. Coordinate the setup and winterization of attractions, ensuring cleanliness, guest safety, and service quality. Maintain communication with your Director and other managers regarding operational needs and improvements. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, particularly during emergency situations, to keep guests and staff safe. Lead, train, and supervise the seasonal staff in the Aquatics Department while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Review and revise Standard Operating Procedure manuals as necessary. Ensure compliance with labor laws, particularly those concerning youth employment. Manage performance, including coaching and disciplinary actions, and oversee personnel changes in alignment with company policies. Develop and monitor the departmental budget, tracking labor and operating expenses, and securing necessary supplies. Address guest feedback effectively, taking corrective action to improve services. Promote adherence to park policies, demonstrating a commitment to exceeding customer service expectations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in theme or water park operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Eligibility to obtain a lifeguard training instructor or instructor trainer license. Capability to learn CPR and Basic First Aid with ongoing certification. High School diploma or GED; a college degree is preferred. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Ability to pass mandatory drug testing in compliance with company policy. Successful completion of background checks, including credit and criminal history, as per company policy.
