Description: The Tayani Institute is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Back Office Ophthalmic Medical Assistant to become part of our thriving ophthalmology practice. We are a high-volume, fast-paced medical facility offering a comprehensive range of ophthalmology, optometry, optical, and plastic surgery services. Key Responsibilities: Back Office Medical Tech: Supply physicians and clinics with essential equipment and supplies to ensure seamless operations. Organize and maintain exam rooms effectively before and after clinic sessions. Manage eye drop samples and liaise with representatives under the guidance of the Back Office Supervisor. Assist patients with inquiries in the office and via phone. Process prescription refills. Perform necessary testing including Visual Fields, OCT, Fundus Photos, Pachymetry, and Topography. Calibrate equipment according to manufacturer instructions on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Administer Ilux treatments for dry eye management. Document patient information with attention to detail using NextGen. Facilitate patient information transfers to the Patient Portal. Travel to satellite offices as needed. Organize and archive photos in NextGen effectively. Train new hires and students in best practices. Maintain and clean back office equipment thoroughly. Administrative Non-Back Office Tasks: Participate in administrative functions within the office on an as-needed basis. Assist with front office duties and patient scheduling as required. Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of back office experience in ophthalmology is preferred. COA, COT, or COMT certification is an advantage. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. NextGen experience is a plus. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service skills are essential. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Management or leadership experience is a plus but not required. We offer competitive compensation, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), paid time off, and a profit-sharing plan. Hourly wage ranges from $18 to $27. Location: Tayani Institute
