Join our innovative highway team as a Lead CEI Inspector! We are looking for an experienced professional who is passionate about quality control in construction projects. In this vital role, you will collaborate with our technical experts and contribute to developing cutting-edge techniques and standards that enhance project outcomes. Your experience will be invaluable as you mentor early professionals and support resident engineers and project administrators to ensure inspection work is completed according to strict project and client specifications. Elevate your career in a dynamic environment that empowers you to excel! Main Responsibilities: Evaluate the daily work performed by contractors for quality and compliance. Review daily reports submitted by contractors and make informed recommendations on their acceptance or rejection. Conduct thorough inspections of the contractor's quality control procedures. Perform material testing, ensuring all procedures are aligned with the approved Quality Control Plan and established standards. Assess material testing results for adherence to contract specifications and document quantities of materials utilized. Take samples or conduct in-place testing of various materials, including soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement as needed. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in roadway or bridge projects. Valid State driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle background check. CTQP Certification. Ideally, You Will Also Have: A degree or technical school graduation in Engineering or Construction Management, while not mandatory, is preferred. Essential Functions: This position involves various physical activities, including sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and lifting items up to 20 lbs. You should be able to carry items for distances up to 50 feet. Manual dexterity is necessary for various tasks, and occasional reaching above and below shoulder height is required. Alertness to field equipment is essential, and the role may involve travel. Be prepared for working conditions that expose you to construction equipment, uneven terrain, dust, gas, fumes, noise, temperature extremes, and heights. Flexibility to work during days, nights, or weekends may also be required.
