JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Marketing Pathway Intern, you will be an integral part of multiple teams within Nelnet. You will rotate through various departments, contributing to existing projects and taking ownership of new initiatives. Collaborating with fellow interns, you will address real business challenges faced by Nelnet. Expect to engage in scheduled events, programming, networking, and mentorship opportunities. Marketing Track - Where Creativity Meets Strategy Help us communicate Nelnet's story and engage our associates in meaningful ways. You will delve into the world of communications and marketing, gaining hands-on experience in content creation, campaign management, and engagement initiatives. Under the guidance of seasoned professionals, you will learn the full process from brainstorming to delivery of impactful materials. Potential areas of rotation include: Associate Experience Nelnet Business Services (NBS) Associate Experience NBS FACTS Marketing Nelnet Diversified Services (NDS) Associate Experience NDS Communications Corporate Communications Employer Brand Your projects may involve: Supporting internal associate engagement and appreciation campaigns. Creating and editing videos for diverse audiences. Writing and editing content for newsletters, SharePoint pages, and other platforms. Assisting in social media and digital marketing efforts, including trend research and copywriting. Collaborating on marketing projects from creative brief to implementation. Contributing ideas for enhancing communication strategies and engagement initiatives. WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE: Complimentary computer equipment (laptop, monitor, keyboard, and mouse) for the duration of your internship, daily support from your manager, formal mentorship through Nelnet's Mentor Program, and cool Nelnet swag to make you feel at home. EDUCATION: Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program, preferably a sophomore or junior in majors such as Marketing, Communication, Advertising, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or related fields. EXPERIENCE: Strong writing and editing capabilities for various audiences and platforms (e.g., newsletters, web content, social media). Familiarity with marketing principles, branding, and content creation. Basic understanding of social media trends and digital communication strategies. Experience with video creation and editing tools is preferred but not required. Comfortable using technology and quick to learn new tools (e.g., SharePoint, content management systems). Able to conduct research and apply creative thinking to marketing projects. CORE COMPETENCIES: We're seeking an intern who: Has the confidence to present relevant information to colleagues. Utilizes analysis techniques to evaluate competitive markets. Effectively leverages social media to showcase our expertise. Possesses the necessary technology infrastructure to work virtually if needed. Can work independently or collaboratively in a team. Is self-motivated, accountable, and eager to seize internship opportunities. Exhibits exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Thrives in ambiguity and can adapt to various rotations throughout the internship. Is open to sharing new ideas and sees feedback as an opportunity for growth. Is ideally a sophomore or junior in college during the internship, though all students will be considered. Manages time effectively between academic and work responsibilities. Can work on-site in Lincoln, NE, committing to at least 15-20 hours/week consistently. Is available to fulfill all hours during standard business hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm CST).
