Senior Java Backend Software Engineer

Description: Our client is a highly respected U.S. financial institution with a rich history since 1908. They operate an extensive network of branches and ATMs across multiple states and are a major subsidiary of a top bank holding company, ranking among the largest banks in the United States. This role is based onsite in Cincinnati, OH. Please note that applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis. W2 Responsibilities: Identify and catalog documents, metadata, workflows, and lifecycles to facilitate migration or integration. Map source data structures to target FileNet schemas utilizing custom Java code. Transform and normalize metadata, document types, and folder structures as necessary. Migrate versioned documents with an emphasis on accuracy and thoroughness. Ensure document lifecycle states and retention policies are preserved throughout the migration process. Migrate audit data to maintain complete audit trails, version history, and security classifications. Guarantee data integrity, completeness, and accuracy in target object stores. Create and execute re-indexing jobs in accordance with organizational standards. Establish reconciliation processes for monitoring and reporting migration progress and outcomes. Migrate workflows from the FileNet Process Engine, validating routing logic and triggers. Review and optimize custom code to support migration, reporting, and data extraction activities. Reconfigure or re-establish integrations for both downstream and upstream systems, including API development. Conduct test migrations with sample data and assist in defect resolution. Develop and document rollback and recovery procedures for any partial or unsuccessful migrations. Engage in comprehensive application design, coding, debugging, testing, and performance tuning. Support, maintain, and document software functionality, ensuring adherence to compliance standards. Integrate new software with existing systems and evaluate new technologies for potential implementation. Experience Requirements: Proficient in Java development specifically for data migration, integration, and API services. Experience working with FileNet object stores, document classes, properties, workflows, and the Process Engine. Familiarity with mobile web development. Expertise in data mapping, transformation, normalization, and reconciliation methods. Solid understanding of retention policies, lifecycle states, and the importance of audit trails. Proficient in designing and executing re-indexing and validation tasks. Experience in recreating workflows, as well as managing routing logic and exception handling. Full lifecycle application development including design, coding, debugging, and testing. Strong skills in object-oriented design and analysis, including software modeling and simulation. Knowledge of front-end graphical user interface concepts and software quality assurance practices. Experience in performance tuning, usability enhancements, and automation within enterprise applications. Ability to integrate software smoothly with existing systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
