Senior General Laborer/ Crew Leader

The Opportunity This role supports daily greenhouse production while helping lead crews during peak seasons. As a Senior General Labour / Crew Leader, you will assist in overseeing planting lines and general production teams to ensure output targets, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently met. You'll work closely with Team Leaders and site leadership to keep crews organized, on pace, and aligned. This is a hands-on leadership role, and you will actively participate in planting and greenhouse tasks while guiding others on the floor. Core Responsibilities: Planting Line & Crew Leadership Help lead planting lines to meet daily productions targets Set the pace and maintain workflow efficiency Monitor tray counts, spacing, planting depth, and accuracy Address bottlenecks quickly and adjust crew assignments as needed Train and support new employees Communicate labour needs and production issues to Team Leader Greenhouse Production Support Support crews in spacing, consolidating, potting, trimming, watering, and general crop care Reinforce task instructions and quality expectations Step into hands-on production work to keep operations moving Assist with organizing workflow during high-volume periods Act as a reliable second point of leadership on busy days Workflow Quality & Safety Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times Promote proper tool and equipment use Maintain clean, organized workspaces Identify quality concerns early and escalate appropriately Communicate clearly with Operations leadership Qualifications Experience in greenhouse production, agriculture, or fast-paced labour environment Prior experience leading small crews or acting as shift lead preferred Strong communication skills and ability to giver clear direction Ability to stay organized and calm during peak production periods Physically capable of repetitive lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time Reliable attendance and flexible to support multiple tasks Total Rewards: Competitive hourly wage ($17.50-$20) USD depending on experience and expertise Positive and supportive team environment Paid time off for selected U.S Federal Holidays (voluntarily provided by DeVry Greenhouses) Why Join Us?
