Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. On-Call & Late Requirements: Yes Position Overview The Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN - OR) provides high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care while supporting surgical teams in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role is practiced within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Code of Ethics, and the Scope & Standards of Nursing Practice. As a traveler, the RN - OR is expected to adapt quickly, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient surgical care. Key Responsibilities Deliver perioperative nursing care utilizing the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient outcomes. Function as a clinical leader while safely delegating and supporting licensed and ancillary staff. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal surgical outcomes. ssess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education. Utilize data and evidence-based practice to promote quality improvement and positive patient outcomes. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and facility policies. Promote patient safety, customer satisfaction, and professional nursing standards. dhere to the organization's Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including timely reporting of safety, privacy, or ethical concerns. Perform additional duties as assigned based on facility needs. Education Required: Registered Nurse Diploma Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Experience Required: Minimum of 2+ years of recent Operating Room experience Experience or training in one or more of the following specialties is required: DaVinci Robotics MAKO Robotics Neuro / Spine Orthopedics General Surgery Gynecology Ophthalmology ENT Podiatry Vascular Plastics Licensure & Certifications Required: ctive RN license in the state of Louisiana (or compact license, if applicable) Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association Preferred: Specialty certification related to perioperative nursing Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong organizational and time-management skills bility to work independently and adapt quickly in new clinical environments Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to delegate and collaborate effectively within a surgical team Physical & Environmental Requirements bility to perform heavy work, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50-100 lbs. occasionally Prolonged standing and walking in a surgical setting Routine exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and specimens Occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste common to healthcare environments Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Additional Information This job description outlines the general nature and level of work expected for this position and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties.
