Job #: 309469 Title: Maintenance Technician - Oilfield Tools / Downhole Equipment Location: Houston, TX Salary Range: $28.00-$32.00 Position: Maintenance Mechanic Description: Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Oilfield Tools / Downhole Equipment Location: Northwest Houston, TX Pay: $28-$32 per hour DOE Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM About the Company Lofton Staffing is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our client in Northwest Houston, a global oilfield services company specializing in downhole completion tools used in drilling and well intervention operations. Our client manufactures and services specialized tools used to isolate zones and maintain well integrity in oil and gas wells. This role is based in a shop and manufacturing environment where technicians perform tool teardown, inspection, repair, testing, and rebuild of oilfield service equipment to ensure reliability and readiness for field deployment. Key Responsibilities Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and rebuild of downhole oilfield tools including packers, valves, mandrels, and mechanical assemblies Conduct preventive maintenance and corrective repair on service equipment and shop tooling Perform tool teardown and rebuild according to work orders, technical drawings, and assembly procedures Conduct hydrostatic pressure testing and functional testing of tools and components to verify integrity and performance Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and torque equipment to verify tolerances and component condition Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic system issues and replace worn or damaged components Read and interpret technical drawings, assembly prints, and repair procedures Prepare equipment and tools for field deployment, shipping, and job mobilization Complete service documentation, repair reports, and maintenance logs accurately Operate shop equipment including overhead cranes, forklifts, torque machines, hydraulic tools, and standard hand tools Maintain clean, organized, and safe workshop conditions in compliance with company HSE standards Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or trade school preferred) 1-3+ years experience in mechanical repair, oilfield service equipment, industrial maintenance, or tool repair Experience with downhole tools, drilling equipment, valves, pumps, or hydraulic systems preferred Strong mechanical aptitude with experience performing tool rebuilds and equipment troubleshooting Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment Ability to read assembly drawings, technical manuals, and work instructions Forklift or overhead crane experience preferred Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial shop environment Candidates with backgrounds in the following roles are encouraged to apply: Oilfield Tool Technician Mechanical Technician Downhole Tool Technician Shop Technician Equipment Repair Technician Industrial Maintenance Technician Service Technician (Oil & Gas) About Lofton Staffing Lofton Staffing is a trusted workforce partner connecting skilled professionals with leading employers across the Gulf Coast.
