About the Team: The Audit & Assurance team at Crowe specializes in providing attestation services, alongside accounting and consulting for applying accounting principles. About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Audit Manager with a strong background in state and local government accounting and auditing. This role uniquely combines client service responsibilities leading government audit engagements with responsibilities in our National Office. You will engage in client-facing audit work while also working on firmwide technical, quality, and training initiatives. What You'll Do: Client Service - Public Sector Audit Manage multiple audit engagements for state and local government clients ensuring high-quality and compliant service delivery. Lead and mentor engagement teams, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support professional growth. Develop and maintain robust relationships with government entities and stakeholders. Proactively identify client needs and explore opportunities to expand services. Stay current on governmental accounting and auditing standards (GASB, GAAS, Uniform Guidance, and Yellow Book) and industry trends affecting the public sector. National Office Consult on accounting standards and their financial reporting impacts. Analyze complex transactions and assess their implications for financial statements and disclosures. Monitor emerging accounting, auditing, and regulatory developments, especially those related to the public sector. Create and present internal training materials on new or evolving accounting and auditing topics. Draft technical memos and whitepapers to communicate interpretations of authoritative standards and regulations. Participate in speaking engagements to contribute to Crowe's industry thought leadership. Collaborate with practice leadership on technical inquiries and enhance audit quality across the firm. Qualifications: 5+ years of recent and relevant public accounting external audit experience, particularly with state and local government clients. Must be a licensed CPA in your home state or capable of obtaining a reciprocal license. Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, GASB, Uniform Guidance, and Yellow Book requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex accounting and auditing concepts clearly. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements, prioritize tasks, and deliver exceptional client service. Proven experience in supervising and developing staff. Strong interest in technical research, policy development, and assurance methodology. Willingness to travel as needed and work additional hours during peak periods. The estimated salary range for this role is $81,000.00 - $192,000.00 per year, taking into account various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, and other organizational needs.
