Job Description A dynamic and expanding plastics manufacturer is on the lookout for a Quality Assurance Engineer - Plastic Injection Molding. This pivotal role involves ensuring technical quality across both manufacturing processes and customer programs, primarily focusing on customer-driven quality as well as new product initiatives. Key Responsibilities Champion customer-quality initiatives for ongoing production and new product qualification/launch projects. Oversee structured problem-solving efforts and corrective actions (8D), conducting thorough investigations, identifying root causes, implementing corrective/preventive actions, and verifying effectiveness. Develop and manage PPAP documentation (including dimensional results, capability data, MSA, control plans, etc.) to ensure effective manufacturing controls and inspection processes. Support engineering changes and new product introductions by evaluating quality impacts and updating control plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions accordingly. Act as the primary quality contact for customers, facilitating communications regarding containment, corrective action progress, PPAP readiness, and requirements alignment. Ensure compliance with key ISO 9001 elements, including conducting internal audits, preparing for external audits, and evaluating system effectiveness. Design practical in-process inspection strategies and tooling, driving continuous improvement in inspection programs. What You Bring At least 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering/Quality Assurance within a manufacturing context; experience with plastics/injection molding is highly preferred. Proven expertise with 8D or similar structured problem-solving methodologies, PPAP/APQP processes, and customer-focused quality initiatives. Solid understanding of ISO 9001 standards, internal auditing, and QMS implementation. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience in ERP systems (IQMS experience is a plus) and statistical tools like Minitab. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field is preferred; however, strong relevant experience will also be considered. Excellent math skills and blueprint reading ability; certifications such as GD&T and ASQ (CQE, CQA) are advantageous. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit a resume for consideration.
