As the primary electrical estimator, you will collaborate with the Senior Estimating Manager to pursue firm fixed price projects. What We Offer: In your role as a Senior Estimator, you will lead a team of Estimators to price and bid on multiple projects. Under the guidance of an experienced professional, you will learn the department's operational procedures and build robust relationships with the Preconstruction team. You will play a critical role in project coordination and supervision, bidding on projects that will impact your community. Additionally, you will have access to comprehensive training opportunities through our award-winning Learning & Development department, particularly Gilbane University, which offers varied in-person and webinar-based training sessions to help you excel in your career. Responsibilities: Read and understand the requirements of RFPs, focusing on electrical systems, including high and medium voltage, switchgear, fixtures and devices, temporary power requirements, power distribution, and telecommunication. Analyze, quantify, and provide cost estimates for the electrical scope of work. Develop accurate labor crews and productivity inputs for project schedules. Guide designers in design-build projects toward cost-effective solutions that meet RFP requirements. Write comprehensive Requests for Information (RFIs). Create and coordinate detailed bid packages. Engage with electrical subcontractors throughout the bidding process. Develop and distribute the electrical bid scope of work checklist. Analyze and compare competitive subcontractor and supplier bids. Recommend appropriate risk register values for the electrical scope. Monitor and report on current material and labor prices, including escalations, along with identifying long-lead items. Qualifications: Core Competencies: Effective communication skills to ensure clarity and understanding. A commitment to inclusivity, showing respect and empathy in all interactions. Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent experience. 7-10+ years of relevant experience in estimating. Experience with Lump Sum Bidding. Familiarity with Federal construction programs and markets is beneficial. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficient in estimating software such as AccuBid and On-Screen Take-off for electrical systems. Proficient in basic Windows applications and communication platforms like TEAMS and Zoom. Ability to support the design and layout of electrical and low voltage systems. Capability to present estimation deliverables to management clearly. Ability to perform conceptual estimates with limited information. Experience estimating across different facility types including hospitals, hangars, and office structures. Ability to foster healthy relationships with all industry partners. Salary will be determined based on education, experience, skills, internal equity, and market alignment.
