Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Neuro Job Details: • Work 12.5-hour weekend day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM • Weekend schedule includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, and Monday • Patient ratio of 1:5-6 for floor patients on a 20-bed neuroscience unit • Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS (must be in hand at time of submission) • ACLS certification preferred • Must have strong neuroscience experience and proficiency with G-tubes • Recent EPIC charting system experience required • Care for patients with neurosciences conditions, deep brain stimulators, stroke, seizures, surgical/post-op spines, and neurological disorders • Work with common drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin • Telemetry monitoring available with monitor techs reading strips • Unit orientation consists of 1 shift • Holiday work requirement as part of rotation • Possible floating to other units (7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E) as needed • Dress code: any combination of white and royal blue scrubs • Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract • BSN not required but nursing license must be submitted Facility: This major academic medical center operates a specialized 20-bed neuroscience unit providing comprehensive care for patients with complex neurological conditions.
