You will play a key role in supporting with primary responsibility of being a part of the Phenotyping/Field Trial functional team along with overall multicrop/multifunctional responsibilities.Please note: there is no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance provided for this role.What You'll Do: Participate as a multicrop/multifunction team member for all SPD, Biotech, and other functional accountability. Detailed in Corn, Soy, Wheat, Cropping Systems, etc. Operator research equipment for planting and harvest Have or able to obtain FAA commercial UAS license to fly a drone on research fields. Able to support shipping in spring/fall workload activities Support Regulated efforts at research station Highly desired and strong knowledge around research ag equipment Able to scout fields, focusing on agronomy pests and diseases. Able to work with team members in driving regional scouting teams Be able to communicate effectively with all team members/stakeholders to understand both agronomic deadlines and other functional groups deadlines Work across Johnston team functions to support other activities at the site/along with support of other assigned research projects. Assist with research center projects and research seed production activities, including seed preparation for planting, winter nursery deadlines, seed sampling, and other overall support for the research center to be successful. These are critical times for the success of the research program, so weekend work and overtime will be required during peak periods Willingness to manage and direct the work of temporary and seasonal employees Contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment What Skills You Need: Associate's degree with 3-5 years of experience or bachelor’s degree in agriculture or scientific field (preferred) Experience in Agronomy, Biology, Plant Breeding, or a scientific-related field preferred Contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment. Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with diverse groups of people Results Driven : Self-motivated and ability to initiate projects, improvements, decisions, and problem solving.
