Data Center Technician - Irving, TXCompany: E2 OpticsLocation: Irving, TexasEmployment Type: Contract (6-months)Industry: Data Center Infrastructure & Technology IntegrationPosition OverviewAs a Data Center Technician, you will support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of physical infrastructure inside a mission-critical data center environment. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and ideal for individuals who enjoy technical work, problem-solving, and working as part of a high-performing team.Key Responsibilities Install, route, label, and terminate copper and fiber cabling Support racking, stacking, and securing network, server, and storage hardware Perform cable dressing, pathway installation, and cable management to E2 Optics and client standards Assist with troubleshooting Layer 1 connectivity issues Use hand and power tools safely and effectively Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and site protocols Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment Work collaboratively with leads, supervisors, and project managers to meet deadlines Required Skills & Qualifications Experience in data center, cabling, construction, or related technical environments Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in physically demanding conditions Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic test equipment Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions Reliable, punctual, and committed to safety Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Previous data center experience Fiber termination or testing experience Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA) Experience with racking/stacking network or server hardware Certifications such as OSHA 10, BICSI, or manufacturer-specific training Why Join E2 Optics Competitive pay Career growth and training opportunities Work on cutting-edge data center projects Supportive, people-focused culture Opportunities to advance into lead and technician-level roles Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mansfield, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
