Lifeguard Position At Beautiful Interlachen Country Club Interlachen Country Club, located in Winter Park, FL, is currently recruiting part-time, year-round Lifeguards. A strong sense of responsibility and lifeguard experience are required. The health and safety of our members and their guests is the top priority for our Lifeguards. Individuals may also fill additional roles; working with families and children during swim team, swim lessons, camps, movie and game nights, holiday events, and other special programs/activities. Because our staff have a variety of responsibilities and interactions with our members, we are looking for positive, enthusiastic, personable individuals with strong character, who understand the importance of their position as a lifeguard. Individuals must be able to function as a part of a team, contributing to a dynamic and professional aquatic and recreation environment. Responsibilities: Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. Must administer First Aid or CPR in an emergency. Able to understand, follow and enforce the rules equally and fairly as taught to them through American Red Cross lifeguard training, as well as Interlachen Country Club. Supervises and observes members and guests in and around the pool; aiming to provide the highest level of safety and emergency response. Maintains the pool and pool area as assigned by their supervisor. Greets and signs in members and guests through our pool welcome areas. Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and position. Advancement opportunities are also possible for individuals that demonstrate consistent initiative and effort. Reports To: Aquatics Manager or Head Lifeguard Requirements: Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule which will include weekdays and weekends, as well as holidays. For part time staff, hours are available around school class schedules, if candidate's availability is otherwise open. Physical / Mental Requirements: Requires focus and awareness. In an emergency may be required to extract a person from the water as required in lifeguard training. Requires occasional bending, lifting, stretching. Must be able to work in the heat and sun for prolonged periods of time.
