Job Title Under close supervision, this position performs duties such as scanning, organizing, filing, making copies, answering the telephones, assisting customers as a backup to other positions in the department, as well as performing general office duties and providing administrative support. Essential Functions 1. Operates keyboard, PC, tablet, telephone, and other office equipment in support of routine daily activities. 2. Scans documents and accurately files electronic records following procedures and policies which ensure accuracy and compliance with local and State regulations for records retention. 3. Assists Building Services staff with activities and projects as needed. 4. Receives and screens telephone calls, emails, and/or visitors as a backup to other staff as needed. 5. Regular and timely attendance are required for this position. 6. Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others in the course of daily work. 7. Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position. Required Skills Ability to provide excellent customer service. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Experience or class studies in word processing or typing. Good knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formatting. Ability to focus on accuracy and precision when completing tasks. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain structure in daily activities. Ability to operate both independently and in collaboration with others. High school diploma or GED required. Experience with working in an office environment is preferred. Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and credit check. Must have a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen. Working Conditions While performing the essential functions of this position the employee is rarely exposed to disagreeable environmental factors. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This job requires the ability to work in an office environment where the noise level is usually moderate.
