This Telemetry Registered Nurse role focuses on cardiac monitoring, stroke care, and acute medical-surgical patient management in a supportive teaching hospital environment. Ideal candidates are Telemetry RNs or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nurses with strong cardiac and stroke experience. Job Requirements (Registered Nurse - RN) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida (compact license not accepted unless FL active) Minimum 18 months recent Telemetry/Acute Care experience required; 2 years preferred PCU or Cardiac Telemetry experience required (must be reflected in work history) Experience caring for stroke patients and managing vasoactive drips (no titration) BLS and ACLS from AHA or Red Cross (required at time of submission) NIHSS certification (must obtain prior to start) Nicotine-free (facility requires negative cotinine drug screen) Willingness and ability to float to all three local hospitals within 20 miles as needed Completion of time-sensitive onboarding modules prior to start Successful completion of EKG and Pharmacology competency tests during orientation (2 attempts max) First-time travel nurses welcome Responsibilities - Med/Surg Telemetry RN Deliver high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients, including cardiac, telemetry, and stroke cases Continuously monitor and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms; recognize and manage dysrhythmias Administer and monitor vasoactive drips (no titration) and manage central and peripheral IV lines Administer blood products, oxygen therapy, and provide non-invasive airway support as needed Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC (electronic health record) Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case management) to optimize patient outcomes Float to other units within scope when required to support hospital staffing needs Adhere to infection control protocols, isolation precautions, and hospital policies Why Join Our Team?
