Registered Nurse I Sanguine Biosciences is accelerating personalized medicine research by empowering patients with their healthcare data and making it as easy as possible for them to participate in the medical research process. The Registered Nurse I role is responsible for providing safe and effective patient care during the apheresis process. This includes assessing and monitoring patients, performing apheresis procedures, and ensuring that the equipment and procedures used are in compliance with industry standards and regulations. This position reports directly to the Director, Apheresis Operations and will be expected to work onsite at the Los Angeles, CA donor center. Primary Responsibilities: Take height, weight, temperature, and other vitals of qualified donors. Conduct medical health history questionnaires. Perform phlebotomy activities to draw samples for screening visits and day of collection visits. Check in donors upon arrival and ensure they are seated in the proper waiting area or room. Answer all incoming calls. Ensure donors feel comfortable and have the information they need. Explains policies, procedures, or services to donors using clinical or administrative knowledge, based on scope of practice. Clean and re-process equipment and supplies based on standard work and department guidelines. Ensure all critical materials for each collection are stocked before each appointment. Ensure all consumables such as donor snacks, hand sanitizers, etc. are available. Ensure stock room is organized and orderly. Initiate apheresis collections using the Spectra Optia apheresis machine. Assess and monitor patients during apheresis procedures, including vital signs, fluid balance, and overall well-being. Recognize and treat reactions according to standard of care and under the direction of the Medical director. Document all patient care activities and maintain accurate records. Review all patient/donor information and product data. Identify abnormal values and initiate follow-up as needed. Administer medications as needed during apheresis procedures. Ensure that all procedures and equipment are in compliance with company standards and regulations. Maintain knowledge and techniques related to blood and apheresis collection. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including the Medical Director, to monitor Adverse Events and provide emergency care, if needed. Record, document, and accurately report any adverse events that arise to Quality and the Medical Director. Coordinate and perform Quality Checks on screenings, collections, lab processes, and shipments to ensure accuracy. Position Requirements: Required Current California RN License and Basic Life Support CPR certification. Maintain continuing education units (CEU) for nursing licensure At least 2 years of donor apheresis or therapeutic apheresis experience preferably using Spectra Optia devices Excellent venipuncture & IV skills Understanding of confidentiality and privacy regulations when working with patients/donors Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team Moderate computer skills, including electronic health records (EHR), Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Background, Drug testing and state of CA immunization requirements for healthcare settings Preferred Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Certification in apheresis nursing preferred Strong computer skills including advanced navigation of Salesforce, Excel formulas, and order placement and tracking using procurement software Experience in lab testing Experience in shipping and supply management Pay: $55-$65 hourly plus quarterly bonus Sanguine Biosciences is proud to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, age, national origin, physical or mental disability, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other protected classification.
