The General Superintendent is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall management and performance of field operations across multiple electrical construction projects. This position provides direct oversight and strategic guidance to Superintendents and field leadership personnel to ensure excellence in execution, safety, productivity, and workforce development. The General Superintendent plays a critical role in standardizing field operations, enforcing company procedures, and driving continuous improvement in labor performance, jobsite efficiency, and installation quality. This role requires strong leadership, field expertise, and the ability to manage complex, large-scale projects through multiple layers of supervision. Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks: Develop, implement and maintain field operations programs, policies and procedures Maintain Superintendent and Foremen training program and schedule Maintain and Update Manpower log indicating current and future manpower projections across multiple reporting Superintendents Accurately forecast labor needs to ensure that proper manpower levels are maintained across multiple Superintendents. Update manpower needs to the needed manpower log to ensure that requisitions are properly and timely requested from Recruiting Review and Monitor labor efficiencies, hours and ratios across multiple projects and multiple divisions. Project labor needs for the duration of the project with monthly updates across multiple Superintendents. Ensure company guidelines are followed by field staff Monitor and address safety hazards or potential problems with Superintendents. Maintain ongoing and open communication with Superintendents, Foreman, site management and Project Management. Provide technical support as needed Monitor codes, specifications, and installation methods. Maintain thorough knowledge of systems and equipment being installed Attend meetings as necessary for field related items with project team and general contractor Ensure that project installation is on track Routinely walk projects reviewing and inspecting installation methods and quality of work performed. Ensure that Superintendents are compliant with company policies and procedures. Hold Superintendents accountable for meeting project objectives and compliance with Forman job responsibilities Ensure that all projects meet or beat labor rate budget Ensure that all projects meet or beat labor hour budget Ensure that all Superintendent Duties are being met Participate in weekly manpower meetings Manage and execute Corrective Action Plans as required Job site risk management Participate in safety meetings and ensure safe work practices Implement RMG Quality Control/ Quality Assurance Plan across all projects Code enforcement Utility coordination Monitor Foremen phone usage Monitor Foremen vehicle usage Travel pay determination Assist in Foreman bonus determination Foreman classification determination Tool coordination Vehicle coordination Delivery Schedule coordination Prefab/manufacturing coordination Identify field training needs and recommend courses or classes Ensure the use of field quality control measures Attend all weekly assigned reoccurring project meetings Assess and evaluate Site Supervisor's skill set and develop an individual training program to address gaps Design and deliver training to all Site Supervisors on how to develop the skills of upper-level trainees through journey level craftspeople Coach individuals on their career goals and progress What's in it for You? Compensation: Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee's knowledge, experience and skill level. Work Environment: Regularly exposed to environmental conditions inside and outside: inclement weather, cold, heat, and humidity. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Frequently exposed to vibrations, moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, machines, dust and chemicals. May be required to function in crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, and other areas of close proximity. Occasionally required to work on elevated surfaces including on ladders and lifts. Reporting Structure: Reports to - (Director of Field Operations) Department - (Construction Services & National) Location: Rex Moore has branch offices located in Sacramento, Fresno, Reno and Atascadero. This position may be required to travel to various project sites. Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 5 Years Minimum experience as Superintendent Level or Higher Site leadership competency at Level 5 Foreman or higher Must have, or be willing and be able to obtain within 6 months of starting, an OSHA 30 construction certificate & CPR/ First aid certificate Minimum of 15 years of electrical construction experience Good verbal and written communication skills, including speaking to large groups and provide group training Strong internal and external customer orientation Ability to manage multiple tasks Ability to lead through mentorship Ability to develop, implement and maintain programs, policies and procedures Physical Requirements: Occasionally required to sit in a chair. Frequently required to sit in a vehicle or operate heavy machinery. Regularly required to talk in order to communicate detailed, important, and accurate instructions to internal and external customers. Frequently required walking for long and short distances, walking from one worksite to another. Frequently required to stand for sustained periods of time Occasionally required to bend or twist at the neck and torso Occasionally required to crouching, squatting, stooping, kneeling Occasionally required to use and climb ladders to work from heights Occasionally required to use scissor, boom, and other personnel lifts to access the work area Occasionally required to reach above head Occasionally required to reach forward, grab, grasp, pinching, handle material and tools using upper extremities Occasionally required to perform repetitive motion tasks such as typing on a computer keyboard and writing Occasionally required to pull or push using force Occasionally required to lift objects from low to high positions in horizontal to vertical motions Frequently required to lift objects weighing up to 25lbs Occasionally required to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs with assistance Frequently required to talk, express or exchange detailed, important information by means of verbal communication.
