The Senior Product Manager serves in a hybrid capacity, combining responsibilities of a traditional Product Manager with those of a Field Application Scientist (FAS). This role drives product strategy, development, lifecycle management, and commercial execution for solutions supporting cell and gene therapy (CGT) manufacturing in Cell Culture and Cell Expansion. In addition, the role provides direct field-based scientific and technical support to customers, enabling successful evaluation, adoption, and scaling of BioLife's cell expansion technologies. This hybrid role is a pivotal customer-facing and product-driving role, ensuring BioLife's portfolio delivers best-in-class upstream solutions, while also translating field insights into actionable product requirements that expands BioLife's product offerings. The position needs to work cross functionally as products champion, and strategic accounts to advance clinical and commercial CGT manufacturing. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and execute product strategy and portfolio roadmap for cell culture product lines aligned with BioLife's CGT growth priorities. Identify unmet needs through customer engagement, market analysis, technology trends, and competitive assessments. Understand competitor landscape and identify novel technologies to address market gaps. Oversee lifecycle activities for existing and New Product Introductions (NPI). Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop product positioning, value propositions, messaging, training content, competitive briefs, and launch materials. Support field teams with technical expertise during pre-sales, evaluation, and post sales activities. Participate in customer visits, seminars, workshops, and trade shows as a product and technical subject matter expert. Provide onsite and remote technical support for customer evaluations, workflow optimization, and troubleshooting across cell expansion and culture workflows. Collaborate with BioLife's Center of Excellence or customers to develop and deliver application notes, best practice guides, and experimental recommendations to support customer success. Build strong relationships with scientists, process development teams, and manufacturing stakeholders in clinical and commercial CGT programs. Evaluate partnership, licensing, and co development opportunities to expand the cell expansion technology portfolio. Partner with Supplier(s) and Operations to ensure supply continuity, product quality, and manufacturability at scale. Job Requirements: Deep understanding of cell culture biology, cell expansion workflows, bioreactor systems, media optimization, closed system processing, and upstream CGT manufacturing. Knowledge or hands-on technical experience with bioreactor platforms and cell culture supplements. Demonstrated ability to support customers directlyproviding scientific guidance, troubleshooting, workflow optimization, and training. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills for market opportunity assessment and competitive positioning. Excellent cross functional leadership and project management capabilities, including influence without authority. Strong communication and presentation skills for both scientific and business audiences. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, highly cross functional environment. Familiarity with cGMP, risk management, regulatory expectations, and quality systems relevant to CGT raw materials and equipment. Job Specifications: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field required. Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) preferred, especially with emphasis in cell biology, immunology, or bioprocessing. 5+ years of product management experience in biotechnology, bioprocessing, cell therapy, or life sciences tools OR 3+ years product management + 2+ years field applications, tech support, or process development experience. Hands on experience with cell culture, upstream CGT workflows, bioreactors, or closed system expansion technologies strongly preferred. Experience conducting customer training, troubleshooting experiments, workflow optimization, or technical support is highly desirable. Prior work in regulated environments (GMP) preferred. Ability to travel 3040% for customer visits, field support, conferences, and internal meetings. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across scientific, technical, operational, and business stakeholders. BioLife Solutions is an equal opportunity employer. The US base salary range for this position at full-time is $124,937 $181,157 per year. Typically, new hires are brought in at or near the midpoint of the range to allow for future growth and advancement within the role. This range represents the full compensation range for this position, with consideration given to experience, skills, and qualifications. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, location, and market competitive benchmarks. Individual pay within a level is determined by work location (including geographic pay zone region), job related skills, experience, education, and training.
