Director Of Production Planning And Scheduling FTAI owns and maintains commercial jet engines with a focus on the Maintenance, Repair and Exchange (MRE) of CFM56 and V2500 engines. FTAI's propriety portfolio of products, including The Module Factory and a joint venture to distribute engine PMA helps make CFM56 and V2500 engine maintenance simpler, more cost-effective, significantly faster, and more environmentally friendly. Job Overview Responsible for setting and executing the end-to-end planning, scheduling, and capacity strategy for the MRE operation. This role provides executive leadership across production planning, master scheduling, capacity management, and third-party MRO coordination to ensure delivery commitments, asset availability, and operational performance targets are achieved. Reporting into senior leadership, the Director works closely with Asset Management, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and external MRO partners to ensure milestone gates are met, risks are proactively managed, and planning processes enable predictable, scalable engine maintenance operations. The role has direct accountability for planning governance supporting FTAI USA engine assets, as well as other customer programs. Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Governance Own and define the planning and scheduling strategy for the engine maintenance shop, aligning operational execution with asset management and business objectives. Establish and govern Master Scheduling processes, including planning cycles, time horizons, escalation paths, and decision authorities. Ensure a comprehensive, asset-level view of all engines across internal production, sub-module repairs, and third-party MRO activities. Set planning standards and discipline to ensure milestone gate adherence across the full engine maintenance lifecycle (induction through redelivery). Operational Leadership Provide senior leadership direction for daily, weekly, and monthly production planning cadence, ensuring alignment across production areas. Oversee planning support for FTAI USA engine assets, ensuring priorities, risks, and delivery commitments are clearly defined and executed. Lead cross-functional coordination with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Asset Management to proactively identify, mitigate, and improve operational risks. Own escalation and resolution of workscope holds, material holds, and customer holds, ensuring minimal impact to asset availability and customer commitments. Capacity & Resource Management Lead capacity modeling, scenario planning, and rough-cut capacity analysis to support changing asset priorities, workload fluctuations, and strategic growth. Oversee definition and validation of manpower, equipment, tooling, and facility requirements to meet production demand. Balance internal shop capacity with third-party MRO utilization, including strategic prioritization of external shop visits and sub-module repairs. Review capacity performance and drive corrective actions to improve on-time delivery, cycle time, and throughput. Performance Management & Reporting Define and own planning and scheduling KPIs, ensuring clear visibility into production performance, asset availability, and delivery risk. Oversee development and delivery of executive-level reporting for senior leadership, Asset Management, and customers. Use data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions, investment needs, and operational improvements. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Build, lead, and develop a high-performing planning and scheduling organization, including succession planning and capability development. Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning effectiveness, risk reduction, milestone adherence, and operational scalability. Lead and sponsor ad hoc strategic projects and analyses in support of business growth, new programs, or operational transformation. Serve as a senior planning interface for customers, lessors, and external MRO partners as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in jet engine MRO operations, production planning, scheduling, or asset management, with senior leadership responsibility. Deep understanding of jet engine maintenance processes (e.g., CFM56), including sub-module repairs and third-party MRO coordination. Demonstrated experience supporting leased or managed engine assets with delivery and availability accountability. Strong experience with ERP / MRO systems (e.g., Quantum) and executive-level reporting. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent knowledge of manufacturing process from planning through delivery theories, processes and practices. Excellent demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and strategic skills. Ability to perform multi-faceted projects in a rapidly changing environment. Highly skilled in data analysis and manipulation. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. Job Demands Work is performed in a shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance.
