Emergency Med Specialist Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles. The posted compensation range of $32.61 - $40.74 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities: Each employee is expected to perform duties in alignment with the mission and policies of the organization. Performs duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, JCAHO and other licensing/accreditation and regulatory agencies. Administers patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in accordance with the prescribed plan of care centered around activities of daily living. Utilizes established hospital standards of care and practice to guide patient care activities. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis as indicated. Maintains patient safety and confidentiality during the hospital stay. Embraces diversity by displaying sensitivity to different cultures and cultural backgrounds. Job Requirements: Minimum of one year to two years of Emergency Medical Technician experience. Has competency skills related to the Scope of Practice of Emergency Medical Technician I (EMT-I) as outlined in Title 22, Section 100063. High School graduate or equivalency and successful completion of an EMT-I course. BLS certification required. EMT license issued by EMSA required. Basic EKG certification preferred. Point of care testing preferred. Phlebotomy certificate preferred. This position is represented by SEIU.
