FAR Inspections - Trenton, OH

Job Description

Join the FAR Inspections Team! FAR Inspections is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications for mortgage lenders. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn a steady income with a flexible schedule, whether you are looking for full-time work or supplemental income. While past experience in mortgage field inspections is not required, you must have strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Our company has been thriving for over 9 years, and we are based in Reno, NV. What to Expect as an Occupancy Verification Inspector: As an independent contractor, you will play a crucial role in providing regular updates to mortgage lenders about their properties. Key tasks will include: Validating property occupancy. Assessing the general condition of the property using a mobile application. The majority of inspections will focus on the exterior, with around 10% requiring interior photos if the property is found to be vacant. You will work closely with inspectors in your county, completing all inspections assigned to your area. In some cases, you may share responsibilities with another inspector when inspection volume is sufficient. Your Key Responsibilities: Complete typical inspections in just 5-6 minutes. Finish the inspections within 4 days of assignment. Evaluate the property’s condition and determine occupancy status based on industry standards. Capture at least 9 detailed photos of the property, accompanied by brief comments. Use a mobile app to fill out a short form for each inspection. Be ready to drive frequently and make multiple stops throughout your assigned area. Qualifications Needed: A computer with internet access. A reliable vehicle (good fuel efficiency is a plus, as fuel costs are your responsibility). A smartphone (Android or iPhone). A printer. Ability to pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license. Compensation and Work Hours: This position is structured as a 1099 independent contractor role. Compensation is based on a flat rate per inspection, which differs by county and inspection volume. Expect to earn between $20 and $30 per hour, based on the number of inspections completed. Depending on your county classification and whether it’s urban or rural, you could conduct anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections each month, working 2 to 30 hours per week. Generally, lower volume counties provide higher pay rates, while higher volume counties offer lower rates. Work opportunities are consistently available without a fixed monthly inspection quota. You have the potential to increase your earnings over time as you become established, optimize your availability, or expand your inspection territory. Please be aware that there is no additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat rate per inspection.
