JOB SUMMARY: Impact NW is seeking a Development Manager to build on its success in raising awareness and support for Impact NW's mission of homelessness prevention, by helping to lead day-to-day fundraising activities for the department. The Development Manager will support all fundraising operations in collaboration with the Development team. The ideal candidate will not only have knowledge and experience with fundraising, events and communications, but strong ability to build relationships inside and outside of an organization. Essential traits include flexibility, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills for collaborating across diverse cultures and backgrounds. The ideal candidate also will possess strategic thinking, be a great writer and communicator and a superb project manager. In addition, we seek candidates whose passion for our mission energizes donors and colleagues. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and manage Impact NW's corporate portfolio: including partnerships with corporate foundations, sponsorship opportunities, employee giving campaigns and volunteer experiences. Point person for all cultivation and solicitation activities with corporate partners. Collaborate with the Grants Manager on grant writing/edits as it relates to corporate foundation grant applications. Lead and direct the fundraising strategy and planning related to all special fundraising campaigns, year-end (or other) appeals (i.e. Give!Guide) and in-kind fundraising activities. Create the marketing communications strategy for the department, as well as facilitate all donor communications (email, social media posts, website updates and print (monthly newsletter)), with support from other team members as needed. Oversee relationship with contract videographer and collaborate on video strategy. Manage Development Department relationship internally with the Finance Department. Lead project management for all fundraising events including the large annual one (We ARE Impact), as well as other Impact NW fundraisers or cultivation events, with support from other members of the development department team. Use Raiser's Edge for donor tracking and workflow support to team members, and Trello for project management of events. Work collaboratively with program staff members and Directors to create a culturally responsive and anti-racist workplace. Effectively communicates agency policy, mission, values and decisions to program staff, volunteers, collaborating organizations, supporters, and the community. Manages and implements additional development responsibilities and tasks as assigned. SUPERVISION: Reports to: Director of Development & Advocacy REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of successful experience in development in a non-profit environment, preferably in a role with previous development strategy experience applicable to all or some of the following: annual campaigns, event management, communications, and corporate partnerships. Excellent oral and written communication skills, previous grant writing experience for corporate foundation applications a plus. Strong presentation skills and comfort with public speaking. Experience with event project management. Solid abilities with marketing as it relates to donor communications. Superb organizational skills with an ability to prioritize multiple and varied tasks. Excellent computing skills required, including the Microsoft suite and donor databases. Previous donor management and project management software/database experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with a racially and ethnically diverse community of donors, staff and volunteers. Willingness to sign Impact NW's anti-discrimination statement. Bilingual and cross-cultural knowledge and skills are highly valued. Collaborative, team player. Bachelor's degree preferred. THIS JOB ALSO REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Repetitive motion, prolonged sitting, and extensive visual involvement. Ability to efficiently travel in order to perform duties and other agency related errands. Moderate lifting.
